POSTION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The NCR Mobile team is a small, dedicated R&D team within NCR which
specializes in products which incorporate a mobile device. Current
developments by this team include;
barcoded boarding passes used by Delta and US Airways and around 20
other airlines, cinemas and travel and entertainment companies.
a mobile web platform used by Copa Airlines, Qatar Airways and several
other airlines, cinemas and travel operators.
a large volume sms messaging platform
a mobile banking application and website using best practice, cutting
edge mobile development techniques.
This team currently has openings within its QA team, currently based
in Hyderabad. The QA team work closely and proactively with the
development team in Edinburgh to ensure the Mobile CoE products are
the best they can be. Most products are primarily server side
developments with mobile client applications or web pages and the
testing process encompasses all areas of the products.
The Junior QA test engineer will be responsible for the following
tasks;
Testing mobile websites and applications against a range of mobile
handsets.
Testing web-based APIs and services to ensure they are robust,
reliable and scalable.
Reporting defects in Jira and working with development engineers to
resolve problems.
Checking information products and performing product upgrades to
ensure processes are user-friendly.
Working with the QA Lead to write test plans according to
requirements.
Working within a distributed development environment using tools like
Instant Messaging, email and video calling.
Reporting test case execution results to the QA Lead and development
teams.
Input into improving testing processes and tools.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline.
Internships and/or 0-3 years of QA/testing experience.
Experience with using the major mobile operating system ecosystems
(iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem solving skills
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Attention to Detail.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic knowledge of SMS messaging
Experience or knowledge of JMeter
Experience or knowledge of automated gui test frameworks like
Selenium.
Working knowledge of Web development fundamentals (XHTML, CSS, XML,
JSON, Javascript, SQL)
Knowledge of Java and Junit for automated test case development.
Experience of working within an agile development environment.
