Description:
To test software solutions developed for the tax & accounting market. Product suite involves both desktop and web based applications predominantly on Windows platform. Primary duties will be following formal test plans to test products in the suite, reporting bugs and issues in a timely fashion and preparing manual and automated test scripts.
Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Technical
1. Liaise with the Quality Assurance Manager and other members of staff to test software solutions that meet with business requirements. This will include: framing formal test procedures, executing test plans, writing test scripts and following defect escalation procedures.
2. Work closely with the test team to ensure product releases are tested thoroughly and are bug free.
3. Contribute new ideas to the testing team
4. Actively participate in progress update meetings during releases
5. Work with other team members and other product groups to achieve zero defect software.
6. Responsible for ensuring test plans are followed as agreed by the Quality Assurance manager.
7. Work with Quality Assurance Manager to ensure any specified changes are made.
8. Raise potential issues in a timely fashion
9. Supply time estimates on allocated tasks and provide timely updates on task progress.

10. Maintain up to date knowledge of software testing lifecycle, including keeping up to date with new tools and testing methodologies.
11. Take responsibility and show initiative in areas of own professional development and learning.
12. Be prepared to act as a mentor to other employees within the organisation and impart relevant knowledge.
13. Provide input and assessment on suitability of potential new staff members.

14. Help to establish a quality driven working philosophy consistent with the aims and objectives of the organisation.
15. Ensure software solutions are delivered on time and with minimal defects.

16. Promote and establish a healthy and safe working environment, ensuring that health and safety policies are complied with.
17. Identify potential hazards in the work environment that have the potential to create a risk to other employees or visitors to the organisation.
Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in a technology-related discipline
